Folasade Ologundudu investigates contemporary art through Black/African diasporic experiences, the universal human condition, power structures, and cultural forces. Her criticism, essays, and interviews have appeared in ArtForum, Frieze, ARTnews, Vogue, Essence, and other publications. She previously led communications and storytelling for the Bed-Stuy based arts non-profit The Laundromat Project.

Moving across commercial and institutional spheres, Ologundudu’s writing traces the relationships between artworks, histories, people, and political conditions. Her essays center historically underrepresented artists and curators, and interrogate the structures shaping who is heard, what gets seen, and how ideas are collected, remembered, and disseminated. 

As the founder of the creative studio Light Work and host of the podcast Everything Is Connected, Ologundudu expands her writing into public conversations exploring how visual culture, history, and politics are never isolated but continually shape one another. Through Light Work, she defines writing as cultural infrastructure, creating living archives of contemporary artistic thought and cultural criticism. 

For Ologundudu, criticism is a form of care - insisting that to write seriously about art is to better understand ourselves and each other. She recognizes criticism as a living practice that helps shape the cultural record alongside artists, institutions, and audiences actively creating it.
